Virtual School – Academic Suite Add-On Overview

The Academic Suite Add-On is the highest level of support available in Virtual School. It builds on the Coached Class Add-On by adding academic coaching, grading, live academic classes, and personalized feedback.

  • Available for: Students enrolled in the Premium Student Plan

  • Grades: 3–8

  • Best For: Families who want academic oversight, grading, and regular live support

What’s Included

The Academic Suite Add-On includes everything in the Coached Class Add-On, plus:

  • Grading of submitted assignments

  • Written coach feedback on student work

  • Math Lab (optional), offered 3 times per week at noon MT

  • Language Arts Class, held every Friday at noon MT

  • End-of-year report card

This add-on provides accountability, structure, and ongoing academic guidance throughout the school year.

How the Calendar Works with the Academic Suite Add-On

Students in the Academic Suite follow three different schedules, depending on the subject.

1. Character Core Calendar

  • Same calendar used in the Coached Class Add-On

  • Outlines lesson sequencing and live Character Core class days

  • Used for the full school year

2. Language Arts Calendar

  • Based on the student’s grade level

  • Found inside the Language Arts course → Resources tab

  • Provides weekly pacing and due dates

3. Math Courses

  • Math is completed at the student’s own pace

  • Each Math course includes a suggested pacing calendar

  • Students may follow the suggested schedule or adjust as needed

What a Typical Day Looks Like

A student enrolled in the Academic Suite typically:

  1. Completes Character or Skills Core lessons following the Coached Class rotation

  2. Works independently on Math and Language Arts lessons

  3. Joins Math Lab (optional) at noon MT, up to 3 times per week

  4. Joins the Language Arts Class every Friday at noon MT

  5. Continues progress on assignments and projects

This structure balances independent work with optional and required live academic support.

Students access all live academic support through their student dashboard.

These links appear automatically for Academic Suite students.

How Assignments Are Submitted

Language Arts Assignments

  • Each Language Arts unit includes Assessment lessons

  • Students submit work directly inside these lessons

  • Coaches review and grade submissions in the platform

Math Assignments

  • Math assignments are submitted using Formative

  • Each lesson includes a link to Formative when submission is required

  • Students complete and submit work directly through Formative

Coaches review submissions as part of Academic Suite grading.
