Family School offers three main categories of courses. Each category serves a different purpose and is included depending on your plan type. Understanding these categories helps families choose the right courses and plans for their students.


Character Core Courses

Overview:
Character Core courses integrate academic subjects with principles of the restored Gospel of Jesus Christ. These courses focus on developing both knowledge and character.

Subject Areas Include:

  • History

  • Science

  • Geography

  • Literature

  • Art

  • Music

Key Details:

  • Available in all subscription plans

  • Include written lessons for parents and students

  • Include video lessons when accessed through a student account


Skills Core Courses

Overview:
Skills Core courses are short, hands-on electives designed to help students explore practical and creative interests while building confidence.

Categories Include:

  • Life Skills

  • Career Skills / Hobby Skills

Example Courses:

  • Leadership

  • Photography

  • Digital Design

  • French Cooking

  • Athletic Training

Availability:

  • Available only with the Online School – Premium Student Plan (and Virtual School add-ons)


Academic Core Courses

Overview:
Academic Core courses focus on foundational academic skills required for long-term learning success.

Subjects Include:

  • Math

  • Language Arts

Key Features:

  • Courses are leveled by grade

  • Flexible pacing with suggested calendars

  • Focus on reading, writing, grammar, and math skills

  • Optional live support available through Virtual School add-ons
