Overview
Family School allows parents and students to create custom calendars to organize lessons, schedules, and important events. This article explains how to create, edit, share, and delete calendars, and important rules about calendar permissions.
Important Calendar Rules
Calendars created in student accounts cannot be shared
Calendars created in parent accounts can be shared
If a calendar needs to be accessed by more than one user, it must be created in a parent account
How to Create a New Calendar
Log in to your Family School account (parent or student)
Click Calendar in the top menu
On the left side under Calendars, select Create New Calendar
Enter the calendar details:
Calendar name
(Optional) Description
Calendar color
Click Create
Your new calendar will appear under My Calendars.
How to Edit a Calendar
Steps
Go to Calendar
Under My Calendars, locate the calendar
Click the three dots (⋯) next to the calendar name
Select Edit
Update the calendar name, description, or color
Save your changes
How to Share a Calendar (Parent Accounts Only)
Only calendars created in a parent account can be shared.
Steps
Log in to your parent account
Go to Calendar
Under My Calendars, click the three dots (⋯) next to the calendar
Select Share
Copy the share link
Sharing Tips:
If the other user has their own device, open the link on that device
If sharing on the same device:
Log out of the parent account
Log in to the other user’s account
Open the share link
Once added, the calendar will appear in the other user’s calendar view.
How to Delete a Calendar
Important Warning
Deleted calendars cannot be recovered. All lessons and events will be permanently removed.
Steps
Go to Calendar
Under My Calendars, find the calendar to delete
Click the three dots (⋯) next to the calendar
Select Delete
Confirm the deletion
