There is nothing to download from the App Store or Google Play. Your phone can add AHS Worldwide to its Home Screen directly, and it then looks and behaves like any other app: its own icon, its own window, and no address bar.
The quickest way: open this link on the phone or tablet you want the app on. It works out what you are using and shows you only the steps that apply.
On Android and on a computer, that page gives you a single Install button. On iPhone and iPad it shows you three taps, because Apple does not allow a website to install itself.
Safari, Chrome and Edge all work. You do not need to switch browsers. What changes between them is only where the Share button lives.
| Your browser | Where to tap first |
|---|---|
| Safari (newer iPhones) | The menu button on the bar at the bottom, then Share |
| Safari (older iPhones) | The Share icon in the bar at the bottom, a square with an arrow out of the top |
| Chrome | The Share button on the address bar, then scroll down |
| Edge, Firefox or another browser | The Share button, either on the address bar or in the browser's own menu |
If you want notifications on an iPhone or iPad, this is the step that makes them possible. Apple does not let a browser tab send notifications. Only the Home Screen app can, so install it first, then open it from the icon and turn notifications on.
Open app.ahsworldwide.org/install and tap Install the app. Your browser will ask you to confirm. If you do not see a button, open your browser's three-dot menu and choose Install app or Add to Home screen.
You do not need to install anything. The site works the same in a normal tab. If you would like it in its own window, Chrome and Edge show a small install icon at the right-hand end of the address bar, and Safari on a Mac has File, then Add to Dock.
The app fills the screen, with no address bar. Because there is no address bar there is no reload button either, so the app has its own: Refresh in your account menu, or pull down from the top of the page. Press and hold the icon on your Home Screen for shortcuts straight to your Dashboard, Course Library or Calendar.
| What you are seeing | What to do |
|---|---|
| There is no Install button | You are on an iPhone or iPad. Apple does not allow one. Follow the three taps above. |
| There is no "Add to Home Screen" in the list | You probably opened the link inside Facebook, Instagram or Gmail, which are not full browsers. Use that app's menu to choose "Open in browser", then try again. |
| It asked me to sign in again | Normal on an iPhone or iPad. The installed app keeps its own private sign-in, separate from Safari. Sign in once and it stays. |
| Notifications still are not working | Open the app from the Home Screen icon, not from your browser, then follow Turn on notifications. |
| It opens with an address bar | You opened a bookmark rather than the installed icon. The installed one is the navy banner icon on your Home Screen. |
| The icon is blank or grey | It was added before the icon finished loading. Remove it and add it again. |
| The icon disappeared | Just add it again. Nothing is lost: your work is saved on our servers, not on the phone. |
Removing the icon and adding it again is always safe. It never deletes anything.
Next: turn on notifications, so messages, grades and class changes reach your phone even when the app is closed.
